Rosemary Fallon is a paper conservator at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. She received her M.S. and certificate in conservation from the Columbia University Conservation Program. In addition to her interest in researching modern and contemporary artists’ materials and techniques, she has spent considerable time engaged in research and activities related to the preservation of time based media art and emergency preparedness, salvage and recovery. Rosemary co-taught a workshop on the preservation and conservation of works of art on paper and photographs at the Smithsonian/Haitian Cultural Recovery Center in Port-au-Prince one year after the earthquake. She is a professional associate of the AIC and Co-chair of the Emergency Committee.
