University of Arizona
PhD Candidate in Chemistry
Tucson, AZ
I received my B.S. in Chemistry from Furman University, magna cum laude. During that time I worked for 7 months at ARC-Nucleart in Grenoble, France as my first exposure to conservation science. Since then I have worked in the PRTD at the Library of Congress with Dr. Lynn Brostoff (Summer 2013) and completed my M.S. in chemistry working with Dr. Anthony Lagalante which was focused on the scientific analysis for "The Triumph of David" as well as developing a new method of binder analysis using DESI-MS (Spring 2015). I am currently a PhD candidate (2nd year) at the University of Arizona working for Dr. Jeanne Pemberton on characterizing photodegradation mechanisms observed in organic semiconductors with the hopes that these techniques can be applied to studying photodegradation mechanisms in pigments and dyes.
