Rebecca Beyth is an Assistant Conservator in the Department of Textile Conservation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. She joined the museum in 2012 initially working exclusively on Interwoven Globe objects and is now working on a group of Safavid period Islamic carpets.  She has a master’s degree in Fashion and Textile Studies from The Fashion Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in Art Conservation and Anthropology from the University of Delaware. Her thesis was titled “The Conservation of a Nineteenth-Century Silk Handkerchief” and it is housed in the FIT library.
