Dawn Aveline

Dawn Aveline recently assumed the role of Preservation Officer at the UCLA Library. Prior to this, Dawn worked as preservation specialist and library assistant in the department. Dawn holds a BA in French from Indiana University and earned an MLIS with a focus in archival studies from UCLA. Dawn brings to the library experience in diverse fields, such as international banking, business development at an architectural design firm, and technology infrastructure for a news and entertainment conglomerate. Dawn is an active member of Preservation Administrators Group, co-chair of the Book and Paper Interest Group in ALA, Steering Committee Member of Los Angeles Preservation Network (LAPNet) and has presented on a wide variety of preservation, stewardship and collection management topics. Her interests include letterpress printing and book arts, Arduino programming and maker communities. She is also an enthusiastic advocate in the value of collaboration, team-building, planning and stewardship.
