Francisca Lucero Juez

Denver Art Museum
Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Textile Conservation
United States of America
A fashion and textiles designer, Francisca obtained her first degree in Santiago de Chile at Universidad del Pacífico and became interested in the preservation of historical heritage during her professional placement at a private conservation studio, where she felt compelled to enhance her knowledge and practical skills to provide better care for textile objects. She completed the MPhil Textile Conservation programme at University of Glasgow in 2013, focusing her thesis on the preventive conservation of archaeological textiles.

After completing a FONDART project in Antofagasta, Chile, Francisca completed a one-year Post-MA internship at the Abegg-Stiftung museum in Switzerland and is now finalizing an Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship at the Denver Art Museum. This experience has enhanced her skills and knowledge in fashion conservation and fashion exhibits, returning to her "roots" so to speak, when preparing, maintaining and deinstalling the fabulous "Dior: from Paris to the World" exhibition.
