Eric Hagan earned a PhD in mechanical engineering from Imperial College London through a doctoral fellowship at Tate (2005-2009), after completing the Master of Art Conservation program at Queen’s University (2004). He has worked at the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) since 2009, where he is currently a Senior Conservation Scientist in the Preservation Services Division. His recent research work investigates the physical effects of temperature and humidity on collection materials, and risk of damage due to exhibition lighting conditions. He also co-facilitates two CCI workshops, provides conservation design solutions for Canadian heritage clients, and leads CCI work related to sustainable museum practice.
