Janka Križanova is the current Research Scholar in Photograph Conservation at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Prior to this fellowship she taught photograph conservation and the recreation of historic photographic processes in the Conservation Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. Where she received her BA in paintings conservation in 2005, followed by her M.A. in paper andphotograph conservation in 2008. Most recently Janka completed her doctorate with the thesis entitled “Hand-colored Photographs: History, Identification and Research”.Her fellowship project focuses on the survey,  characterization, and preservation of the Diane Arbus Archive at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
