Theresa Andrews is the Conservator of Photographs at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and has been at SFMOMA since 1998. She holds an MA and Certificate of Advanced Study in Conservation from the Buffalo State Art Conservation Department, SUNY, 1991. She audited the Photographic Materials Block taught by Debbie Hess Norris at the University of Delaware/Winterthur Art Conservation Program in spring, 1991. Her responsibilities at SFMOMA include the care of all photography within the museum and all aspects of conservation and collections management, including examination, conservation treatment, consultation with staff and artists and general collections care of SFMOMA’s renowned photography collection. She has co-organized and hosted two Andrew Mellon Foundation sponsored workshops: Conservation Issues in Contemporary Photography, Nov. 2002 and Contemporary Photography: Digital Prints, Nov. 2006. Theresa was the secretary/treasurer for the Photographic Materials Group (PMG) from 2002 -2003. She is currently on the Collaborative Workshops Advisory Committee in Photograph Conservation.
